Tuesday Rivalry: Neeeeeeeerrrrrrddds!
We’ve made fun of a lot of people over the course of this tournament - AFI fans, DMB fraternities, Oasis, crappy American bands, Canadian bands that aren’t crappy but who cares cause they’re Canadian - but we haven’t really turned the gun on ourselves yet. We’ll save the indie self-deprication for another day (when Laibach returns), but in the meantime, it’s time to fess up - who’s the nerdiest band, and how many of their albums do we own?
Which is the nerdiest band?
My name is Dan, and I have seen Rush in concert. Yep, they had a big dragon.

I have also seen Rush in concert. Three times. I had to give my vote to TMBG, though. At one point, I owned EVERY Rush album, and every TMBG album, but alas, I am old enough that I started buying music on cassette, and most of those cassettes are long gone. In this new, digital age, I’ve only got 4 Rush albums, and 3 TMBG albums.

I didn’t know Rush was considered to be a nerdy band, but after thinking of it for a while I realized that I’ve lived in denial all these years.

By the way, I own three Rush albums (for instance their first, without Neil Peart, which is absolutley horrible) and two Tool albums. They aren’t nerdy, are they? Oh well, I like Weezer and lots of other nerdy bands too. Nerds are cool.

I would say Tool is one of the most psychadelic bands out there right now, but they are definetely not nerdy.
