Band Sadness Finals: The Tearful Two! (Vote for the sadder band)
Well, I think the results of the Forlorn Four will be a shock to nobody. The Smiths and Joy Division beat Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails by robust margins.
So while nobody should be surprised to see these two bands make the finals, I honestly can’t make a prediction as to which will end up taking home the sad trophy.
Anyway, here it is. As always, vote for the sadder band.
Band Gladness will be ready in time for the weekend.
Who is Sadder? Joy Division or the Smiths?

woohoo I’m the first person to comment! Anyway, I said The Smiths are sadder because even if Joy Division is more intense some of their intensity comes from anger. The Smiths are just 100% sad.

I have to say Joy Division is the sadder of the two, if only because Morrissey always said that even his most depressing lyrics were written with a sense of detachment and humour on his part. I don’t think Ian Curtis felt quite the same way about his words.

hmm, or Morrissey’s too much of a pussy to kill himself? That’s pretty sad. I recall Morrissey once said, “When I’m lying in my bed I think about life and I think about death and neither one particularly appeals to me.”
I voted Joy Division, but upon remembering Mark’s Morrissey antics, I don’t think anything can be worse than being Morrissey.
